Material Sense are experts on finding new materials and their uses, from lab-developed plastics to the traditional craft of processing hemp. We bring together independent research and creative design, based on our extensive knowledge and network of cutting edge designers and companies. We value aesthetics as much as we value sustainability. The tactile experience of material is important to us: how does it feel to wear clothes made out of wood, what is it like to shower in a bathroom made out of flax and bio-resin?

So, it comes as no surprise that this year's exhibition takes place in the building called The Porters Lodge. Material Sense opens the door to new materials and guides you through future possibilities.
