Wrap it!

A collaboration of Dutch and Chinese designers around materials and packaging inititated by Material Sense.

In this workshop day, twenty designers entered into collaboration with one another. The deep-rooted Chinese tradition of working in paper with natural materials and the strong Dutch tradition of simple, clear, and graphic design met in an inspirational way. During the first workshop designers and architects wrapped typical Dutch sweets like cinnamon Candy and Wilhelmina peppermint and authentic Chinese food; all kinds of beautiful tea leafs and moon cakes. The concept related to packaging, concealing, and presenting as well as the results of hands-on material experiments is shown in a film in the exhibition 'Chinese Soul Space'. Together with the works by Chinese designers the DVD is on view in Yksi Expo in the Design Huis in Eindhoven and the gathering was nicely introduced by our city major.
